Whats It Like To Stay At Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana

Written by William Lee

Located on Bavaro Beach in Punta Cana, Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana is an adults-only resort where everything is included in the price. It’s just a short 25-minute ride from the airport, making it easy to get to.

The resort is right on the beautiful and popular Bavaro Beach. You can walk for about 15 minutes to nearby shops and restaurants. But there’s plenty to do right at the resort, too. Guests can swim in three different pools, try various water sports, and use amenities at the nearby Dreams Royal Beach. If you choose to stay in the Preferred Club section, you’ll get access to even more exclusive areas like an infinity pool, a lazy river, and a private part of the beach.

Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana is known for being a peaceful, elegant place to stay with great food and service. It’s perfect for couples or honeymooners looking for a special getaway in Punta Cana.

Recently one of our very own travel agents, Teri Woodruff, had a chance to stay at the resort. Here’s what she had to say.

Dining at Secrets Royal Beach

Teri explored several restaurants at Secrets Royal Beach, each offering a unique taste and experience. La Riviera, the buffet-style restaurant, is open for all three meals and shines with its vast selection of dishes. Teri described it as “great, with a huge selection of offerings including dozens of sweet pastries, traditional breakfast foods, Dominican style breakfast foods, a salad bar, and a huge tropical fruit station.” For dinner, Teri recommends Blue Water Grill, a casual steakhouse where “the food was very good and the service was fast. We had delicious ribeye cut steaks served with chimichurri sauce and roasted potatoes.”

For a touch of the Mediterranean, Olio caters exclusively to Preferred Club guests and sits just steps from the beach, enhancing its meals with an authentic island ambiance. Despite enjoying meals there, Teri’s standout favorite was Bordeaux, a French-style eatery. It distinguished itself with exceptional service, an elegant setting, and delightful dishes, making every dinner memorable. Teri fondly recalls, “All of the restaurants were good, but Bordeaux by far had the extra special service from the wait staff, it was the most formal setting and the food was absolutely delicious! We took a photo with our waiter Jorge…he was super attentive, but not intrusive and had a wonderful sense of humor.”

The Preferred Club Experience

During her stay, Teri was impressed with her accommodation in the “Preferred Club Partial Ocean View King Suite“. She found the room “well appointed, clean, comfortable and was located very conveniently in the center of the resort. We had a very nice view of the ocean and the beautiful serene quiet pool area.”

Resort Amenities and Atmosphere

Secrets Royal Beach also houses a casino and a separate nightclub, providing guests with additional entertainment options. About Bavaro Beach, she noted, “It was beautiful. Fairly wide and long with powdery white sand. Secrets & Dreams do a great job of keeping it clean from debris and seaweed daily. It is very walkable and the water was warm and very blue.”

Teri’s key takeaways? “Everyone from the bell staff all the way up to our butler Marcos was so welcoming and friendly. All and all the staff bend over backwards to make guests feel special and pampered.” The resort is an ideal choice for a diverse range of guests, from honeymooners to couples celebrating significant anniversaries, aged from their 30s to their 70s. The nightly entertainment is vibrant and diverse, featuring live music and performances, yet the guest room buildings are strategically placed to ensure peace and quiet for those who retire early.

For families or those with children, Teri also visited Dreams Resort next door, which she found well-suited for younger guests with plenty of engaging activities for children and teenagers.

All in all, Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana is a versatile and luxurious destination, happily recommended by Teri for anyone seeking a blend of relaxation, fine dining, and personalized service in a stunning Caribbean location.
