Negril & Seven Mile Beach, Jamaica

Negril & Seven Mile Beach.

Jamaica · The west end

On the far western tip of Jamaica, Negril is the island at its most relaxed. The headline is Seven Mile Beach, a long, soft ribbon of white sand and warm, clear water that ranks among the finest beaches in the Caribbean.

South of the main beach, the coast turns to limestone, and the West End is all rocky shore, sea caves and little cliff-top bars. As the afternoon fades, everyone turns west, because Negril’s sunsets, watched from a perch above the water, are simply the best on the island.

It is a place to slow right down. Spend your mornings snorkeling the offshore reefs, your afternoons drifting between the beach and a hammock, and your evenings with a cold drink and the sun sliding into the sea. Three nights or more lets it work its magic.
