Norway, the Baltic & the Northern Lights
Northern Europe rewards the curious traveler with some of the planet's most dramatic scenery and storied cities. Sail the deep Norwegian fjords beneath sheer cliffs and tumbling waterfalls, or trace the Baltic capitals from Copenhagen to the palaces of the north.
In summer, the midnight sun keeps the decks bright past midnight; in the shoulder seasons, dedicated voyages chase the Northern Lights along the Norwegian coast, with some lines so confident of the aurora they guarantee a sighting. Either way, the region pairs raw natural beauty with deep maritime history.
From the geirangerfjord to the Arctic Circle, we'll match you with the right ship and season, whether you're after long summer days among the fjords or the green shimmer of the aurora overhead.
What you'll remember
The route
6 stops · Bergen to North Cape
Tap a stop to jump to that day · drag to explore
1 Embark beside the colorful Hanseatic wharf, the gateway to the fjords.
2 Sail into Norway's longest, deepest fjord, with the storied Flåm mountain railway ashore.
3 The UNESCO-listed fjord of sheer cliffs and the tumbling Seven Sisters waterfalls.
4 An elegant Art Nouveau town scattered across islands at the mouth of the fjords.
5 The lively Arctic capital, gateway to the Northern Lights and the high north.
6 To the northern edge of Europe, beneath the midnight sun or the green shimmer of the aurora.
Every sailing we book is tailored: this is a starting point, not a package.
When to go
Two very different voyages share this coast. Summer brings the midnight sun, the fjords in full flow and the Baltic capitals at their warmest; the dark months bring dedicated aurora sailings along the Norwegian coast. We book the one you've come for.
The midnight sun, fjords at their greenest and waterfalls in full flow.
Peak Northern Lights season along the dark Arctic coast; some lines guarantee a sighting. Baltic and fjord sailings pause, but the coastal aurora voyages run.
Shoulder months with a mix of light and dark, thinner crowds and good value.
Good to know
Norwegian coastal and fjord voyages run roughly 7 to 12 nights; Baltic itineraries from a week, often round trip from Copenhagen or Southampton.
Sail the Arctic coast from roughly late September through March, when the nights are dark. Some lines are so confident they guarantee a sighting.
From late May through July the sun barely sets in the far north, keeping the decks bright well past midnight.
The fjords are about raw natural scenery; the Baltic about grand capitals like Copenhagen, Stockholm and Tallinn. We help you choose, or combine the two.
